Story
Matt Palmer was raised in the horse industry by his parents Guy and Joan Palmer, Competing since childhood, He was showing in Lead Line classes by age two, Showing at the Congress by four and in the Reining by nine. However Reining wasn't his only interest, while simultaneously competing in the horse world, Matt also dreamed of becoming a professional baseball player. He played through high school and college, getting as far as signing with the Minnesota Twins before an injury sidelined that dream. Those years would not go to waste, the discipline learned along with the mental strength it takes to compete would follow Matt into his career as an NRHA professional.
He would go on to become a two-time USEF Gold Medalist, in addition to being the youngest member of the USEF team, he would join the WEG team. Since then the future only became brighter, becoming a 5 time NRHA World Champion and consistent NRHA Top 20 Professional, becoming a multiple finalist and proving he is a force to be reconned with.
More recently, Matt has amassed earnings of over $700 000+, Qualified for the elusive Run For A Million, only 15 NRHA members are able to qualify, placing him in elite company.
Matt also coaches Non-Pro and youth riders and has helped them earn AQHA and NRHA titles, multiple NRHA Finals, as well as helping eight of his students earn college riding scholarships.
