Some people refer to Bob Santagata as "the Carpet King of the North Atlantic!" He is also Santa Hill's Owner. Bob grew up in Long Island, NY, where his passion for horses began. He spent much of his free time riding the trails and developing his appreciation for all things horse related.

Bob built a Ranch in Campbell Hall, NY, in the mid-1990's on a 40 acre property adjoining the Stewart Buffer Zone where he pursued trail riding and pleasure driving. Bob became intrigued with reining through an introduction to Francis Mercier. He began learning the sport of reining and took lessons to gain experience in the special manuevers that make up a reining pattern. Bob purchased his first reining horse, Mark Him Mighty (aka Scooter) in 2003. As his knowledge and passion for the sport increased, Bob quickly outgrew his home based facility in Campbell Hall. Construction on Santa Hill's current facility was completed in 2005.

Bob Santagata's horses and Santa Hill Ranch compete Internationally. He is a member of the NRHA and on the board of EPHRA. Bob sponsors shows and classes at NRHA recognized events throughout the United States.

Santa Hill's state-of-the-art facility includes a 44 stall barn, turn-our paddocks, heated indoor arena, outdoor training ground, and fields for hay production. The Ranch is currently promoting two top-calibre stallions, Itsa Bingo Greyhound, and Chicklets Lil Doll (2006 AQHA Intermediate Open Champion).

Although Bob doesn't personally compete in reining, he can often be found riding the 150 acres of the ranch on his trail mounts Aspen (appaloosa) and Peppy, or in the arena perfecting his turnarounds on one of his many show horses.
