After months off due to an injury, the vets gave the green light for Conquer The Spin to go back to work and show at the NRHA Futurity. The first go round was only the second time ever in the show pen. Dean Brown and Conquer the Spin performed better every time they entered the showpen including receiving incredible maneuver scores of +1 1/2 by all five judges! This amazing duo not only made the Open Finals, but they finished placing 10th in the Open and 4th in the Int Open. This is definitely a team to watch in 2012! |

Congress 2011 Intermediate Open Futurity Champion - Dean Brown and Stylish Results |

Dean Brown and Stylish Results
- Congress Futurity Champions
|
It was a proud moment for Santa Hill Ranch's owner Bob Santagata, our head trainer Dean Brown, and all of us here at Santa Hill Ranch, as Dean and Stylish Results had a stunning run in the Futurity Finals at the Congress and won the Intermediate Open Division.
Dean had found Stylish Results early on in his 2 year old year. He knew then that the horse had incredible talent and would be a great futurity and derby horse. According to Dean, " Stylish results (AKA einstein) is a incredible athelete. The physical things that he can do without feeling like he is even putting in effort are amazing. Not very often do we get the privelidge to ride such a athelete."
Dean and Einstein scored a 220 in the go-round earlier in the week to qualify for the finals. That was only Einsteins second time in the show pen! Dean and Einstein managed to step it up a bit for the finals where they earned not only a score of 221, but also the Int. Open Futurity Championship! Congratulations to both Dean and Stylish Results on your big win! We will all be sure to watch this duo battle it out in Oklahoma. |

Steven Borgia and Cocoas Tycoon |
 |
Steven Borgia
and Cocoas Tycoon |
Imagine starting off your show season without ever winning a single pewter....and then ending your year as NRHA's 2010 Ltd Non-Pro Afffiliate Champion! That was the case for Steven Borgia. The Ltd Non-Pro Affiliate Finals class started at 8:00am on Thursday December 2nd, and it took all day, and most of the evening, to complete the class of 165 riders. When Steven and Cocoas Tycoon, his 10 year old gelding also known as 'Aldo', came into the show pen they definitely brought the crowd alive with their run. The duo
had a fantastic ride that scored them a 217 and clenched the Championship title.
Santa Hill ranch is very proud of Steven and Aldo, and all of their accomplishments this year! |

EPRHA's Fall Spooktacular Show was a Spectacular Show for Santa Hill Ranch |

Dean Brown and Shine By The Chex

Spencer O'Donnell and Shiners Whizard - Int Open Champions |
This year has been filled with allot of firsts, in many ways, for Santa Hill Ranch. That trend continued at EPRHA's Fall Spooktacular show. Dean Brown and Shine By The Chex were the first in the pen to show in the $7000 added Open Derby. This duo put it all out there to score a 125.5 which clenched the championship for them. Dean also placed second on Shiners Whizard and tied for fourth on All Chic N Shiny.
This show was the first time that Spencer O'Donnell had the opportunity to show Shiners Whizard. Spencer did a fantastic job with whizard in the show pen and ended up placing first in the Intermediate Open on the Sunday. Spencer is new to the reining industry as of this year, so this was Spencer's first win and his first Bronze Trophy!
This has been Nancy Moran's first year showing her horse Shine By The Chex, a.k.a. 'Duke'. On Sunday, this team managed to capture first place in the Rookie.
The first's don't stop there. Steven Borgia and Cocoas Tycoon have been having a great show season. This weekend they showed us why they are currentl;y ranked second in the world in the Ltd. Non-Pro for NRHA standings, as they had another great ride and placed first in the Ltd. Non-Pro. They also placed second in the Non-Pro and Intermediate Non-Pro divisions.

NE Affiliate Championship Show
What an amazing weekend! Santa Hill Ranch is very proud of everyone and all of their accomplishments this past weekend at the NE Affiliate Finals/EPRHA Reining Thunder and Santa Hill Futurity show in New Jersey. Steven Borgia and Cocoas Tycoon started it all off by winning all of the Non-Pro Affilliate divisions and the auxiliary Int.-NP, Ltd-NP, as well as Reserve Champion Non-Pro! Steven said that he had never won a bronze before...well now he has four!
Erin Duddy had a memorable experience in the Non-Pro class but it was the Youth 14-18 where she took home the hardware for being Co-Champion for both the Affiliate and auxiliary divisions Erin was riding All Chic N Shiny.
Unstoppable is what Dean Brown was this weekend. Dean made sure he captured the Open title by not only winning it on Friday Night Shiner, but he was also Reserve Open Champion with Shiners Whizard. This was the first time in the show pen for most of the 3yr olds showing in the futurity. Dean Brown took 3rd place with HR Jacs Okie Spark. And to finish it all off, Shinin In Hollywood and Dean Brown were the Novice Horse Open Champions. |
